Need a boost in focus? Invite aromatherapy into your day.
When I'm working on a project or a presentation, I love to diffuse oils to give myself of boost of inspiration, motivation and FOCUS. Which essential oils fit the bill when you're under the gun and need some help? Here are a few suggestions:
- Black pepper essential oil is a mild, spicy oil known for being a helper during study and works sessions – especially when fatigue is setting in.
- Rosemary has been nicknamed the plant of remembrance, and its essential oil is a powerhouse of focus when needed. It is ideal for heavy bouts of concentration and information processing.
- Sweet basil essential oil has a sharp and sweet aroma that is reminiscent of a breath of fresh air. This go-to oil is one to keep at your desk.
- Peppermint essential oil is one that helps get us going early in the day. For both prep and recovery after long meetings, peppermint oil is an ideal focus support.

Just like DeAnna C, I am just learning how to use your site also. I need MAJOR day to day inspiration!!! Can’t wait to get started with you. I use a Massage Therapist for deep tissue massages due to a disease I have, Systemic Scleroderma. She uses the essential oils and has made me a “mist” bottle with 3 oils and Holy Water (REALLY!). I use it after a shower and rub Coconut Oil as the moisturizer. I only use it on my arms and neck. I love it.

Do you have a recipe using these oils for concentration and focus? Maybe a master blend to be used in an inhaler, aroma jewelry or diffuser? Thank you

Hi Stacey - You are most welcome! I don’t have one master blend, I actually have several! But, so much is subjective when it comes to essential oils. One beautiful thing about our recipes, is that you can take combinations of oils in other recipes to use for your purpose. Here is one that features lemon, sweet basil and peppermint and is a great ratio to follow when using a blend for a diffuser. https://www.auracacia.com/community/recipe/summertime-foot-oil

DeAnna, it is wonderful that you are seeking inspiration, stay with it. Did you know about the Daily+ (link at the top of page) it sends little encouraging messages when you sign up, also Charlynn introduced me to the Organic Chakra Balancing Aromatherapy Roll-On blends. These are ayruvedic oil blends to use to inspire your daily practice, the Grounding Root Chakra roll-on is my absolute favorite to help me get settled on my meditation cushion. It has a blend of Vetiver, Patchouli, citrus and spice in jojoba that gives it a warm aroma, feels calming and nurturing to apply on the pulse points.
We'd love to hear your perspective.
