Notebook: Body
Ready to kick the chemicals out of your bathroom?

In recent years, we’ve become aware of how harmful chemicals can find their way into our lives in the form of processed foods, sugary drinks and food additives. Often forgotten, however, are the chemicals that sneak into our household products – shampoos, soaps, dish detergents and cleaning products. I’ve loved learning how to use essential oils and herbs to make my own household products, like toilet bowl cleaner and counter sprays. What conventional cleaning products would you like to swap out for healthier, greener alternatives? What recipes have you already tried and loved?

When I got a cat I changed from chemical based cleansers to vinegar, baking soda, and essential oils to clean and have never looked back. Not only is my home clean and safe, but it smells great!

Hi Lynn! That’s so true- choosing chemical-free products goes beyond our own health and wellbeing.  Green products keep our whole ecosystem healthy, which is essential for the health of both the individual and planet. I will check out Sophie Uliano’s recipes- I love finding new resources!

Yes! I am changing my cleaning products to green clean environmentally safe products and love Sophie Uliano’s recommendations both in her Gorgeously Green books as well as on her website. I feel so much better when I know that what I am using is good for the environment too!

We'd love to hear your perspective.
