In what ways do you best support your healthy skin?

There is so much more that can be done to support your beautiful skin aside from just what you put on it. Taking care of our body in many ways, such as staying hydrated, consuming a well balanced diet and getting enough sleep are all key pieces to having healthy, happy skin. Share with us some of the ways you keep your skin at it's best.

I’m experimenting with sesame oil. Have used avocado oil, which I do like. Made my own body butter with coconut oil and shea butter. I loved the feel and the ease of using it, with no perfumes to react to, but heard about sesame oil being perfect in absorbability and moisture retention.

I don’t do a lot. Moisturize daily, sometimes twice. I splash water and then gently use a face cloth.  I would like to look into charcoal soup.  I’m getting older, 58, so need to perhaps take more care.

I have very dry skin and in the winter it is just a million times worse! Thankfully we are headed towards spring so it is getting better. I love using a body oil after the shower (coconut, avocado, sweet almond). Right now I am using a product called Medicine Mama’s Sweet Bee Magic which is a combo of olive and avocado oils, beeswax, honey, and royal jelly and that has REALLY helped my dry skin heal after this ridiculous winter. (They sell it online @ Costco which is a much better deal than buying it on amazon) Proper hydration and moisturizing of my skin is the #1 way I take care of my skin. I feel so gross when my skin is dry, flaky, CRACKING AND BLEEDING (this happens to my hands in the winter especially), etc. I also try to drink a lot of water (this is a struggle!). I plan on purchasing some frankincense essential oil and using that on my face and neck as well. I love the process of moisturizing my skin, applying oil or lotion/body butter/balm all over. It is a relaxing process for me, helps me feel like I am taking care of myself, and really helps me sink into my feminine energy. Another thing I like to do that is not solely for skin health but overall health is eating healthy fats! I can tell my body craves them so I should probably add more into my diet on a more consistent basis.

I don’t really do anything, save for brushing my teeth. I try to the eat & drink healthily, and I try to drink my coffee decaf after @2 in the afternoon.

To keep my face & skin healthy, I drink at least 48 ounces of water a day. I limit my caffeine, sugar and sodium intake and I try to eat good fats (avocado, almonds, etc.), Whenever I wear makeup, I make sure to remove it promptly and use a charcoal detox soap one a week.
