This is who I am - what I do- how I live!! I am thankful everyday for the gifts of nature. Even if I’m in the house I want to be by a window so I can see outside.

One of my favorite places to be is out in my gardens, seeing what wonders are occurring there. Being able to consume the fruits of my labor are definitely an added bonus.

This task seems so obvious, but living in a city oftentimes makes it harder to connect with nature. This was a great reminder to get out into nature and to help me feel more centered.

Today I went for a walk on a wooded trail.  Just me.  No headphones.  Not even the dogs.  As mindfulness suggests, I took in all of the sights, sounds, and smells that were possible.  I normally walk with a playlist going and a running inventory and to do list in my head.  Paying attention to my surroundings made me slow my pace and stop and notice things I normally don’t.  I may not do this every walk, but I’ll make it a point to do it more often.

I recently visited a state that is the exact opposite of the desert! The grass was softer and I could smell the sweet rain in the air. Nature is incredible!

Whenever I run, I feel more connected to the earth and myself. Last week we went to the UP. It was amazing to step into Lake Superior. Such a serene and pure place.

We planted a large garden this year that requires lots of time outside with fingers in the dirt. There is nothing like growing your own food.

When I can not get out for a walk, I inhale some Pine Oil and Grapefruit. These two scent uplift me.

I find there is nothing more peaceful than being in nature-walking at my local park and mindfully noticing the smells, sounds, feeling the sun on my skin. Nothing beats it!

I love to get up in the early morning hours and walk barefoot in the grass , it is best when the dew is present on the grass, it grounds me like nothing else can.

I just moved to a new area and connecting with the environment here is so helpful. I sat on the grass in the background by magnolia trees and focused on my breathing. The climate here is different and I am just starting to get used to it and this centering activity helps me appreciate the natural world here.

There is a big ol’ thunderstorm moving in right now, I love watching them, when I was girl and we lived out in the country, I would sit outside all afternoon sometimes and watch the big thunderheads roll in.  I still love to do that today, I love the smells of wet ground when it rains, the sound of the rain and thunder, the power of the lightning.  Lately, they have been bad storms from climate change and so we are losing lots of huge trees, so that has been sad, to see mother nature destroying herself because of what we do is sad, but I keep hoping we turn it around in time.

I do enjoy my time listening to nature, whether it’s sunrise, sunset, middle of the sunny day or rain. Definitely a slow down and experience time. Enjoy!

I love nature, and am big on conservation, etc.  I live on our back deck (in the woods) during the 3 seasons that we can.  I keep windows open whenever possible.

I like to meditate every morning in my living room. Today I went outside on my swing and the birds made a nice backdrop to my peaceful feeling!!!

Um… I live in the inner city so I smell nastiness, I hear sirens, and I’m not going anywhere with no shoes on because I’ll be stepping on needles! Hahaha…  But not far from me is a pretty park with a big pond.  I love to sit by the pond and read.  So I took some time to ride my bike there, smell the fresh air, and enjoy the sounds of the water.  So healing…

When I go on walks with my dog I feel very connected to nature. I hear the birds chirping, see rabbits and chipmunks, smell flowers and I like to call them my discovery walks since I always discover something new.

It’s Monsoon season here in Phoenix….today is a rain day that started last night! I am sitting in the hot tub as the rain falls on me…surrounded by the Standing Tree Nation I feel safe and at peace in this moment.

I walked along my favorite river trail this morning, and breathed in the fresh air, saw chipmunks and birds, and felt the morning sun on my skin. It was definitely an experience that engaged all my senses and I feel much more connected to nature today.

I live in the middle of 40 acres surrounded by trees and pasture land. I wake up looking out into the woods and enjoy peepers and fireflies at night in the summertime. And on a very clear night, I can see the Milky Way. Nature is a part of my life.

Being in nature is a daily experience for me.  I am an avid gardener with 1/3 of an acre to attend.  My son landscaped the land in a beautiful way to enable me to have several quiet places to sit and meditate.  The creatures in my garden greet me every day with their chatter and presence.  I am blessed with visits from many species of native birds, wild turkeys, opposum, raccoons, squirrels and occasionally a deer will meander the path at the bottom of the garden and help itself to a tasty snack from the apple tree.  I feel very blessed.

I recently moved out into nature in order to be closer to it every day. The key is making sure to get out there. One of my priorities is to get outside every day. I’m surrounded by trees and the air is so much better. On the days I work from home I eat outside and listen to the birds, drink in the sun, and wonder at the flowers.

I try to smell everything around me, whether good or bad :-) Scents tell me the story of my surroundings. I do like the idea of placing my bare feet on the ground at the same time for a greater connection.

This is the one thing I do almost daily. I grew up hiking and the love of that has remained with me. Sometimes all I can do is sit on the back porch and listen to the birds but I disconnect from life’s stress every single day!!!!

I love outside! Even when i camp we never use a tent just pop up the air mattress and lay out! I went for a lovely hike this morning!  Stopping hanging out w all the butterflies in the field. The most perfect breeze blowing the scents all around me! I love outside! What a difference just stepping out w ur barefeet on the ground can make for ur emotions! I love outside!
