I enjoy sending hand written notes even maybe a handmade card. This task made me realize how lazy I have become using social media in place of a hand written note. It is so fun to get something happy in the mail and what a simple gesture with very little effort.

Thank you for letting me vent when needed and not feeling like you need to fix my problems. I appreciate the honesty.

Distance keeps us apart. Communication is the key.

It’s so wonderful having that friend that you can pick up right where you left off, even if you haven’t seen each other or kept in touch as much as you would have liked due to distance, etc. This is a great reminder to reconnect and let them know they’re on your mind.

I’ve had a friend since first grade. We don’t talk on a regular basis, but when we do pick up the phone (and write occasionally), it’s like we still live down the block from each other.  We have the common experience of growing up in the same neighborhood, going to the same schools, and knowing the same people.  It’s rare that you find, and keep, a friend for all of those years.  We can still finish each other’s sentences, and still share our same zany sense of humor.

I used to keep quiet about such things, my family was not at all demonstrative of love or affection.  I’m learning to be much more open, to be comfortable saying “I love you” to friends and not have it feel weird.  It’s not the sharing that’s weird, it was my upbringing, so working on that one.

I’ve sent my best friend a birthday card everyday in the week before her birthday. Why settle for just 1 card???

I like the sending a postcard to a long time friend. It is sweet and very meaningful. I plan to pick one up today at the store! Feeling the love and flowing of words now!

I sent a message to my sister who I have always considered my best friend. Sending a written note is a special way to show affection to someone who is special to you.

Just sent my best friend of 20+ years a gift box. We could not talk for 6 months and when we do, talk like our last call was the day before. I am grateful for our ability to connect even with the changes in our life and lifestyles.

I have never kept a single personal relationship going, but rather I am drawn to or attract others to me for a short period.  I feel these relationships are even more valuable when I nurture and care for them…something I am not good at doing.  This task reminds me that it is indeed important.

I sent an email to my mentor Pat.  We get together for tea every couple of weeks.  I’m so thankful to have her in my life.  She tells me that she’s “holding up the mirror” for me to see myself and she builds me up with so much encouragement and kindness.  So I took time to “hold the mirror” back.  Thanks for a great task.

I was able to take some time to reflect on my friendship with both my sisters. I’m replying to one sister who has sent me a hand written note card this week. I recently started a pen friendship with her two daughters. I’m seeing she is looking to get in on that action too!

My mother, daughter, and my best friend. Daily I tell my mother and daughter they are my girls, but it’s less often I tell my best friend. She’s been with me from early middle school and the woman is a saint. I love my ladies

I met my dearest friend, Laurie, in the third grade and we have been best friends since then. We were 8 years old. Today we are 54. She stayed in our hometown and I moved to CA and then to ID. We shared everything long distance and it is not any less special. I am now back in IA so seeing each other more is a blessing.
I know she is always there for me and I for her. We have laughed, cried, screamed,  celebrated; all the things you do in life and she will always, always be my best friend.

I took the time to send a note of appreciation and love to my best friend from college. We’ve gone on many journeys together, and it’s not often enough that I take the time to express my appreciation and care for her.

I sent a note to my friend I’ve known the longest - we met in 6th grade, but actually shared the same nursery in the same hospital where we were born 1 day apart…(almost 64 years ago) - grateful to have her in my life - she helps keep me in balance…

This task is something I do on a regular schedule.  My closest friend is someone has been a part of my life for fifty-two years.  We were pregnant at the same time and our children were born exactly one week apart.  I appreciate her love and concern for her and her family as she does mine.  We worked at the same business for several years and now that we are both retired, we meet once a month for lunch.  I feel very blessed to have such a friend in my life!

I take time out my day everyday to text my friends and ask how they are. I work 2 jobs so this is what is best for me. It let’s my friends know they are on my mind. I try to have dinner at least once a week with my close friends.

I always welcome the opportunity to let people who are important to me, know that they are. Amazing how we are drawn to others so randomly, yet they can have a deep impact on our lives…
