My sister and I walk our dogs twice a day as part of her rehab from back surgery in May.  We have both benefited from this tremendously.  On the days when it is raining, we limit ourselves to one walk and really notice the difference.

Walking is so important to me - not only for physical exercise but it does so much more for me. It can relax me if I’m feeling stressed and energize me if I’m feeling sluggish. I try to walk every day and really miss it when I am not able to get out.

I am currently training for a mindful triathlon, as part of it involves a 5k and up until a couple months ago, I didn’t run! I used to hate running, but now I am using it to make myself stronger and more powerful. My goal is to be able to run the 5k without walking and I’m on my way!

I love to exercise and especially to feel strong, I’ve never been particularly fast, or “athletic” or graceful, so strong was always my thing. Working 2 full time jobs, caring for my mom, being involved in a couple of non profits leaves me little time for movement.  Trying to do better, even if it’s just a bunch of air squats in the morning before work.

I love walking and various styles of yoga.  Today’s class is a yin, a quiet, meditative practice that allows the “stretch” to reach deep into the connective tissues.  That being said, I’m also ready to add some weight training a few times a week.  I love yoga and walking, but feel I need more.

I have only used essential oils after exercise (camphor) to help relax muscles. Never though to use them before, will do so now. I like what the trainer said about having a personal approach to exercise. I always feel uncomfortable with gyms. I like hiking and yoga mainly.

I enjoy the uplifting qualities of peppermint yet had never considered wearing the oil during workouts. After trying this today, I’m hooked and want to wear it regularly for exercising.

I also use peppermint for inhaling to open my sinuses.  I wore it on the back of my neck.

I washed my dishes with peppermint soap to motivate me.  Then I did 11 miles on my bike.  Biking around town makes me feel so strong and so relaxed at the same time.

Not using the peppermint oil (it’s toxic to kitties!) but I’m excited about exercise today, as I’ve just been certified as a Pilates instructor! Going to try out some new moves today out on the patio - my favorite place to work out! Fresh air, the sounds of our little waterfall and the tweeting birds, and green all around me.

Peppermint and bergamot have been my workout favorites lately. I started yoga regularly this year with Yoga With Adriene. The yoga and her encouraging attitude have been life changing!  Find What Feels Good!!

Moving more every day has helped me greatly in the last year. Just focusing on staying strong and keeping myself active so I can enjoy retirement and activities with others is such a great motivator for me.

I like the idea of adding oils. Have not done this before. I also keep busy with yoga, running around with kids, dancing and water aerobics. I love the natural high of exercising.

I have always loved fitness and have tried to stay healthy ..I am an avid runner, I ran Boston in 2015 but I am feeling at this age I need to focus more on caring for my body than competing.  I am planning to increase my yoga practice and thank you for the peppermint oil suggestion

I do morning excersice like sit ups and stretches from left hand to right foot vise versa stretches. I do this for 15-20 minutes every morning. Then occasionally I teach my girls to dance. Also yoga twice a week. It also help I have part time job that requires a lot moving.

Running changed my entire relationship with my body and with exercise altogether. Focusing on training, surpassing previous mileage and time records. Putting my attention on what my body can DO rather than what it looks like.

I went for a run this morning, and focused on the powerful and strong feeling in my body. I also used an uplifting blend of essential oils this morning that included peppermint and eucalyptus. I feel strong and healthy!

I go to gym classes 5 days a week and either do cardio, strength training or spinning. I am almost 64 years and have never felt better in my life. Exercising gives me so much energy it’s unbelievable. I also take a yoga class there where the instructor comes around and puts a tad bit of EO on our temples during savasana - I’ll try the peppermint oil trick

Exercise for the sake of exercise was never a motivator for me.  Today, I forced myself to exercise to complete this task. Using peppermint essential oil helped to energize me and I felt invigorated afterward.  Exercise time is now scheduled on my daily calendar.

I used to use lavender in the shower daily and now I have switched to the peppermint oil to lift my spirits and create movement as I begin my day

Peppermint or wintergreen after a workout is so nice on sore muscles. I am not able to exercise the way I would like to but I try to do something each day, even if its just walking more than I normally would.

I recently got wrist weights to rehabilitate an injury that causes me to favor one arm. They are still in the package but today I will take them out. I don’t want to lose strength in that arm, but I will be sure to listen to how much the injured arm can take. It’s about staying strong, in moderation :-)

It’s funny.  Today I ran a little, walked a little, and moved my yoga outside for a change of pace.  That inspired me to write a blog post on physical activity and looking outside the box and doing it for the right reasons.  I urged my readers to look at physical activity like eating, bathing and brushing their teeth and doing something they enjoy so that it’s not about “exercise.”  Then I opened today’s task.  How very cool we were all on the same page.

Dancing!  I dance because it makes me feel happy and it is a fun way to move.  It is exercise without feeling like effort because to me, it is just an expression of life and joy.  I love how I feel when I dance and my body is happy with the movement.

Chasing my toddler is a lot every day but I also do yoga during my mornings before my children wake. My oil of choice depends on how I am feeling/what I need at that moment!

I bought a Rodney Yee 15 minute morning yoga, and I love how this stretches me out all over.  I try to take a 10 minute walk at lunchtime, but the temps are SO hot in SW Florida, I come back soaking wet and probably not smelling too sweet, so I suspended it for now.

In struggling most in this area. Before I started school nights I had the time to walk everyday after work and it fed my body mind and soul. Now I find it hard to squeeze that in as I’m usually tired and since moving I haven’t found my area all that attractive to walking. However my boyfriend and I recently did make the decision to buy bikes so that we can go exploring. It’s a great way to have fun and at the same time incorporate exercise into my routine and in very much looking forward to it.

I do yoga every morning. If I miss a day I can tell… all day! I always diffuse essential oils as part of my practice. It keeps me balanced.

When I read this, I was so excited to be on track. I started a new exercise program it includes Zumba (in a chair) Tai Chi(partial chair). These exercises are optional to stand too. In addition, walking too.  I have not had so much fun exercise because it is a different cause healthy mind body and soul. The oils I use for now is lavender and ylang ylang.

Since developing spine problems, I quit working full time and now go to the gym like it’s my job. Anyone who knows me is shocked as I never before exercised in my life! I work with a trainer, attend a twice-weekly water calisthenic class, swim, bike, and do the exercises my trainer taught me, so that I am doing something different every day and won’t get bored. Hearing a doctor say, you aren’t a candidate for surgery…yet, changed how I viewed exercise when he then went on to say if I did it it could help my issues. Can’t say I have reached a stage where I truly enjoy it, but I am seeing it as less of a chore!
