This has been on my mind lately as I recently got sick which made me reevaluate my self care routine and stressors. I anticipate meditating and practice yoga more, exercise and treating myself to healthier foods. I would love to incorporate more green juices as well.

Read this first thing in the morning, which was good because Saturdays are crazy!  I did some stretches and deep breaths using an essential oil roller that I have before I got out of the bathroom as I knew that once I got out of that bathroom the craziness would begin with my kids!  Already planning on going to yoga tomorrow morning and am going to do my 3 minute morning meditation using the Mindfulness app starting on Monday morning.  Am looking to try to incorporate more meditation into my daily routine.  But, for now 3 minutes will do!

This is amazing! I am trying to take care. My. Indy was begging for yoga. My hamstrings were so tight I could barely run (every morning with my dogs regardless of the pain). I know what I have to do although I feel guilty taking time for me. The girls my husband always someone pulling, I am just exhausted. Only the 2nd day, but hopefully I can keep it up

I read this task early in the morning of a day I knew was going to be extremely busy and wondered how I would ever be able to fit self-care into my day.  By that night I was exhausted and could easily have fallen into bed but I made my self take a bath. I was happily surprised to find myself relaxing and letting my body physically & mentally unwind. I was so thankful that I made the effort to take time for myself. I had a good nights sleep and woke up refreshed!

I have an hour long massage scheduled later this afternoon, followed by my weekly chiropractic adjustment.  Without both of these, I wouldn’t be able to function properly.  I have found this is a great way to start off the week and will continue to do so.

I already practice yoga and meditation on a daily basis.  I used a dry brush on my body before my shower and added some sweet orange essential oil to my body balm.  I’m going to give myself a manicure and have a cup of tea as soon as I finish this task!

As a manicurist and esthetician I always tell me clients to take care of themselves, especially moms.  I remind them that they can not care for their families to the best of their abilities if they do not take care of themselves first.  I do struggle with doing that for myself.  I relish in time alone or doing something just for me.

I make sure to either take a bath with essential oils a few days a week or get a massage every few weeks.  On the days I don’t do either of these, I do a home facial. This is new for me. Self care was not a priority for a long time.

The last few months I have focused on using more natural skin products (e.g. paraben free, plant based, etc). I now use eye cream and face serums every morning and evening. It definitely makes me feel better about myself.

This is definitely something that I never have an issue doing every single day. Dry brushing on a daily basis, always taking off my makeup before bed and proper exfoliation and moisturizing no matter how tired I am is what helps my skin glow!

I begin each morning with meditation and prayer.  Sometimes I pray in the shower (if in a hurry).  I have started spending much more time on my feet at night.  I soak them in epsom salt with lavender oil, then exfoliate and rub foot cream on them.  I am finding that I sleep better too (awe, the smell of lavender).

I meditate almost every morning, and I also love to dry brush my body and then apply warm jojoba oil all over my body. At night I love to drink hot chai, apply lavender oil to the soles of my feet and light a white candle to relax with while I fall asleep.

I added lavender and clove aura cacia essential oils to a hot sea salt bath. This was a great way to de-stress and relax after a short but rigorous workout and a great way to start the day refreshed.

I’ve restarted daily meditation using the Headspace app. I had lapsed for about 6 months. It really makes a difference and there is always 10 minutes to spare at some point in the day.

My routine is usually rushed. I can think of five million other things to do or catch up rather than spending ten - thirty minutes on “Me.” But it’s necessary, isn’t it? As a few so aptly stated, who can you help (even yourself) if you don’t take care of your inner foundation? But where’s the time? Dishes? Dinner? Chores? For me, there is the back up of writing and art that isn’t going to do it self.

Over the last ten years I have had to deal with chronic pain and illness, and through it all, “Self-Care” is still one of those hard lessons I am trying to learn and stick to. But it’s a struggle. Because nothing gets done on its own. And for whatever reason, all the down time spent doing something so intrinsic still seems so selfish. But I’ll get there: No one can take better care of me than me.

One of my yoga teachers used the analogy of what flight attendants say—in case of an emergency, put on your own air mask before you put one on your child or someone else. It’s the same thought as today’s task, it’s important to take care of yourself so that you are strong and present for other people if needed. I went to yoga class today which is my favorite way of taking time and caring for myself.  Getting together with a friend, going for a walk in nature, reading a book, getting a massage or a pedicure, taking a class, creating something – these are the ways I like to take care of myself.

Yes.I did a mouthwash/rinse with baking soda, water and essential oil. By pulling the solution, the baking soda helped to do a gentle cleanse and the peppermint freshened.
I would like to purchase some items to try more of the recipe’s posted. Thank you for sharing. And also, “making and taking” the time to do for myself.

I’ve been sick for about a year now, and coincidentally it’s been a year since I stopped doing yoga and focused meditations every day and I can really see a correlation between doing mindful self- care and detoxifying physically and emotionally, healing stress damage, and giving the body a healthy space to problem since with creativity and without worry. Yesterday I did gentle yoga on the lawn. It was so freeing. Today I will too. Om mani padme hum…

My original intention was to practice self care by practicing asana (yoga postures) and to read “the untethered soul”. Instead, I ended up playing a game on my phone, moisturized my skin, and meditated with 1 hand over my heart & the other hand over my belly while lying down before bed. Even though “self-care” is the task for Day 3, I make sure to carve out time each day to take care of my sensitive skin, read a book/journal, &/or practice yoga/meditation. Self-care is an everyday task on the journey of wellness!

When completing this task I added it to my to-do list. After completing my list of things needing to be done, I took the time to do some Hatha yoga stretches.  Afterwards, my soreness from the day was alleviated; my mind was more relaxed and I felt more confidence iin myself. Typically, I would spend time creating the next day’s task sheet and analyzing what I did wrong. Today, I focused on what I was able to do in the short time frame of the day.

I take care of myself by taking a yoga class 4 times a week. I just started really meditating becoming more spiritual and in tune with my body.  This makes me feel wonderful and sometimes Im like what the heck is that when my body does something new that I have never experienced before.  I am learning that you can really do any thing you put your mind to.  I am learning it is important to take time out for yourself , it is good to listen to your heart, mind and spirit.

When I was in college, I used massage my hair with oils, put on a face mask, deep clean my entire bathroom while the oils/mask worked, take a nice shower in my clean bathroom, brush my skin, and put on lotion with oils.  The whole little routine took only 45 minutes and I used to do it every single Friday night.  I would also do no screens/media on Friday.  It was the best.  I looked forward to it all week.  And then next morning, I would have to go to work at 5 AM to open up a cafe, where I would make myself a nice little healthy breakfast.  I looked forward to that 24 hours every week.  Haven’t done it in over a year!  Think it’s time to pick the habit back up.  So thanks!

When I had a full time PLUS job, I rarely had any time for myself.  Now, I work for myself and my days, while still full, have a lot more flexibility.  Sometimes I use that extra time for things that are technically what I want to do, but aren’t necessarily self-care - things like binge TV or avoiding housework.  In the interest of using my time better, I have started making more intention lists…. For this task, I made a list of things I can do on a daily/weekly basis that are just for me: daily skincare and exercise, bi-weekly mask day with reading time, and monthly pedicures.  These are investments in me feeling my best.

I kind of did this one unknowingly today. I call it my day of beauty. I did some facial care light stretching and basically did not look at the clock throughout the day. When I finally opened my email to complete my task I was surprised to find that today was all about self care.

I cleaned the house while listening to pure mood music thats calm and soothing. I also use face wash on other daily basis. I clean myself every other day bath or showers. I use bubbles and salts for soothing baths. I took up yoga, I purchased my own yoga movie.

I signed hubby and I up for a BYOB Painting night! We went and had fun and got to do something artsy together. And now we have a pretty cool set of paintings to hang on the wall. It was a little pricey, but I splurged because it fit the task :) We really had fun. I learned that it’s nice to get out of the house and do something JUST FOR FUN now and again. Usually I’m trying to double team everything…every outing has a secondary purpose, like it’s good exercise, or it’s close to the store I need to stop at, or we can fit in a visit to so and so….this time it was all about just enjoying some time where nothing else had to be done! I need to do that more!

I told everyone in the house that banging on the door would result in war.  Lol in hindsight it seems really silly to have to demand tp get a quiet moment. Im a Grandmother raising 2 kids again! I have made botanicals for years and I need to get back into it. The cream I make is a Rosemary Gladstar recipe and it is just heavenly. My care right now is to take quiet moments in my backyard to touch the earth and gain healing energy while I garden or watch birds and butterflies.

Due to a death in the family all I do is come home from work, sit on the couch, drink and cry. Yesterday I came home and gave myself a pedicure. Let my feet soak for a while, watched the birds outside the window, had my son pick out my nail polish color (like his dad he veers towards the tasteful, nothing flashy). When my husband came home and sat down next to me I stuck my feet in his face and said, “Feel my feet they’re super soft!” and we laughed at how silly that was.

I stumbled into a little self-care the other day . . . . literally!  Walking barefoot on the back deck, I stepped on a wasp stinger.  The pain was horrible!  After treating it with vinegar and baking soda, several hours later, my foot still hurt and was slightly swollen so I decided to soak my foot in some warm water with Epsom salt.  It felt wonderful!  Then I remembered a friend telling me about taking a bath with Epsom salt and Lavender essential oil, so I decided to give it a try.  It’s fantastic.  This is my new evening routine and such a nice treat after a stressful day.

I started this journey while on vacation in the Colorado Rockies….so I may be cheating a little on this one. :)  As I sit here, I’m reflecting on the moment of eating lunch with my Son and Husband by a mountain lake, gazing up at 3 large snow-covered peaks. We read scripture together and I centered myself with my favorite essential oil and prayer.  That is what self-care looks like to me: Practicing the Presence of God.  My challenge will be to create time/space to do the same once I am back in my office.

I religiously go every 6 weeks to get my hair cut and colored and get a pedicure. Recently I began buying my favorite but expensive perfume and wear it everyday. I used to feel so guilty spending money on such things but now realize I need this for my well being. For me, it is a form of self-love.

I bought some new soap today which should be really good for my sore eczema skin.  I had a lovely long bath full of bubbles and have finally had my hair coloured. Having my hair done really makes me feel so much prettier. I felt so much more femaine and like I’d made the effort to feel and look good. It’s really uplifted my mood.

Sometimes its hard to stop all the doing but I just place a mixture of lemongrass, peppermint and lavendar oils and breath deeply. I also make a point to get a massage about every third week. This something that helps me come back to center.

I took the time today to do yoga and get a massage. I also went to visit my 100 year old Grandmother in a nursing home. I stopped at a park and swung on a swing! All of these things made me feel happy, content, peaceful and with a feeling that everything is fine just the way it is. It gave perspective and gratitude. I learned how important it is to be hopeful and positive and count our blessings which we are all one of.

i’m pretty low maintenance when it comes to make up & hair. i like a more natural look and usually wear my hair naturally wavy, or braided.  i recently made the switch to all vegan make up & hair care products, which was much easier than i thought, as there is a ton of stuff out there now. a new way i pamper myself is with a facial, so far these have been amazing! my skin has never looked so good! i’m realizing that i use very little make up now.

I never did much self-care for years - being a mom and a wife always came first. After my husband passed away, I let myself go, just focused on my job and still did nothing for myself. Then I got into yoga and now I go to the gym 5 days a week (cardio & strength classes) to try to get myself back in shape. I feel great after a good workout. I do a reiki meditation daily upon wakening in the morning - I think it calms me for whatever the day has in store for me. And tonight I took a nice hot bath with bath salts and rubbed myself down with some detox oil. Since it is just me now, I am finally beginning to take time to do things just for me. And I think it all makes me feel better about myself.

I make it my business to put my physical health routines high on my daily priorities. When I plan my day, I make sure I have time to ride my bike and do other exercise. My husband and I partner together on this to encourage each other and make sure we both get it done. I also knit everyday to practice calming.

I take a little time each morning to myself, generally before my children wake for the day. I meditate then complete about 20 or so minutes of yoga. I feel “off” all day when I’m not able to do this, even my kids notice!

I have enrolled and started in two exercise classes a week.  I would like to try some meditation and yoga more than I do. I love essential oils, just don’t always know which ones to use for what.  I need to do some research on it.  I love to pamper myself! I feel so much better when i do.

Information about my task was quite helpful.  I learned that I must be more consistent in my daily care.  Sometimes I get busy with a task that I’ve set for myself, let time get away from me and end up too tired to do what I know I should do before retiring at night.  I’m thinking I should compose a list of what I need to do and refer to it every night.  In that way, I can check off what tasks I have done and feel good that at last I’ve truly taken better care of myself.

I’m a huge fan of doing this every day with different variations on what taking care of myself actually mean. I like to give myself at home facials on the weekend as a special treat for myself, spend a half an hour at night away from school work to read whatever it is I enjoy. I will sometimes treat myself to Starbucks on Fridays as a reward for making it through the work week. There’s so many small things that I honor for myself but I also practice care mentally by meditating and by not allowing any negative thoughts or actions directed at me impact the way I think and feel.

Yes! I’ve been reading about meditation and yesterday I tried it while listening to a Deepak Chopra segment on Pandora Heart station. It was incredibly relaxing. It took 10 minutes from my day and it felt so good. I will endeavor to take time out each day for myself!

I’ve actually take this entire week between jobs and without my kid to indulge in self care. I’ve read in a hammock. Slowly enjoyed my coffee on the porch each day, cooked with friends, wrote in my journal, taken my time with life, got a massage and done alll the yoga. I even gave myself a sensation with a life coach. It’s been life-altering. I needed this time. I haven’t felt this in love with life and in touch with myself and my ability to care for myself in ages.

I must have felt this task coming - last night I ran across a facial serum with argan oil that someone gave me. It is more decadent than my usual moisturizer. I tried it out before bed, and now I will plan to use it nightly.

I started my day with Aura Cacia Purifying Shower Tablets in my shower, and let the Eucalyptus work its magic. That was followed by a cup of herb tea on my patio while taking in the sights, sounds and beauty of the outdoors, and now it’s off to conquer my day!  I also believe that radical self care is a necessisty, especially as I grow older and don’t have as much boundless energy as I used to. I Also started a 7 Day nutritional cleanse to lighten things up a bit for the hot days of summer ahead.

i got up early enough this morning to work out.  I’ve gained a lot of weight and know that it is from stress and the best way to get rid of that is exercise, and meditation.  So this morning I worked hard working out before work, I’ll try to get a few minutes of relaxation before bed.

I am eating a more nutritious diet and taking time to do yoga and meditation for some inner calm. Repeating positive affirmations with long deep breathing is helping to replace any negative self talk and helping me feel brighter!

This task came at a time when everything that could possibly go wrong did go wrong, I therefore did not make any changes to my regular routine .  I feel I have always taken care of myself more than the average way. As I have been working for myself for over 10 years, I learned a while ago not to spend money on spas and hair salons. I therefore deep condition my hair once a month, scrub my body once a week,and once in a while I make my own products to moisturize my skin, I make my own deodorant because of my sensitive skin.  So I feel confident that for now I am doing alright.

I took a nice long Aroma bath and used a wonderful body cream with essential oil witch I maid my self.
Meditation and occasional aroma bath is my way to take care of my self but I have been taking shower instead of bath for some time now.
I am going to using the bathtub more now and give myself the time to soak in the aroma bath.
I am learning Aromatherapy and making my cream my self and taking better care of my skin. I have Rosacea so my skin is very sensitive.

I think because of the healing properties of water, I take many showers and take very good care of my skin with essential oils and lotions.  Cannot leave the house without Aura Cacia Patchouli.  But, today, I will take time to meditate or take a long walk.

I meditated this morning. I am a huge believer in self care. From diet to activities… I try to make choices that will have a positive impact on my life so that I am able to extend those rewards to others.
I eat consciously, meditate daily and practice mindfulness all day everyday!

LOL on the timing of this task!  I woke up early this morning and decided since I had this “extra” time that I would spend it on myself.  I took and epson salt aromatherapy bath (complete with Aura Cacia Essential Oil Bath Salts), smudged with sage clearing energies, listened to a relaxing yoga playlist, and meditated while I soaked.  I ended with a cold shower and a coating of Aura Cacia Lavender Body Butter.  I have been doing this ritual for years and try to do it at least once a week.  I always feel so refreshed and renewed.

I started the morning stretching while getting out of bed! It wad delicious! I had to be at work early this morning to meet my new supe so i made sure to plant my feet in the grass before heading to work! Ahhh the little things!

I take a salt and oil bath every Friday night, (I use Dr Teal’s!!) so I used that tonight for this task. Not only do I physically feel the benefits of detoxing but the fact this is for ME uplifts me in itself.

This task was very helpful in relaxation and opening up more ‘headspace’. I downloaded an app called Headspace which has a beginner’s 10 day guided meditation. I feel wonderfully relaxed :)

The task was very helpful. I started doing breathing exercise before I leave for the day. On that day I had a dental appointment. Every one is always nervous. But I remained calm hhad a conversation in waiting room. Totally took my mind off why I was there. As the Dentist started the work she said you are breathing good. It worked!

That sounds like a win!  Being calm at the dentist - not an easy thing for so many people.  Big props to you for doing the breath work which can be so helpful in that nervous/stress state we can find ourselves in when we are doing something we don’t necessarily want to do.  This is a wonderful self care practice!

Helped my husband stain the deck. We were so much aching by the time we were done we could hardly move. I took a bath with Epsom salts which helped quite a bit. Felt much better!

Getting my meditation practice going again, bought a body brush to begin using on my skin before a bath, taking gentle yoga now because that’s what my body needs, diffusing oils every day and taking quiet time breaks during the day even if it’s just daydreaming for 10 minutes.

I recently had knee surgery. I am able to walk and have been busy walking while shopping etc. during the past weekend so today I am pampering my knee, staying off it and doing my physical therapy home exercises.

I quit working full time recently due to conditions in my spine tha0t exhausted me. I was too tired to cook so I was eating badly and I couldn’t muster up the strength to go to the gym. Exercise is supposed to help so now I go to the gym every day. I have to think of it as my job. But the shower afterward doesn’t have to be! So from today I will take that showetlr as an opportunity to enjoy some hydro- and aromatherapy!

I did self care for a whole day! I do this in terms of an at home pamper day that includes a detox bath with essential oils, himilayan salt body scrub, do my nails, drink detox water, detox my scalp, and take a nap. I make this a weekly ritual and I always feel so energized after!
