Meditation exercise to inspire balance and calm

One fundamental key to eliminating stress from your life is to be objectively mindful of the issues that cause stress, while shifting your focus on good breathing when confronted with those situations. It just so happens that this is the essence of many meditation practices. It's important to note that you don't need to devote hours of meditation study and practice to realize some of the benefits it provides. Just by noting the things that stress you out, working on letting them go and simply replacing your usual debilitating reactions to them with good breathing, will give you many of the benefits of meditation practice. Adding the soothing aromas of calming essential oils to the breathing exercise can provide additional powerful help and an inducement in these simple, straightforward approach to attaining balance and calm.

When stress happens, try to see your anxiety as a manifestation separate from yourself and use this detachment to study it closely. Determine the origins of your stress and discover any patterns in your life that create it. Next look at the behaviors you act out to deal with your stress. Finally, observe how stress events affect your reasoning mind, your physical body and your emotional spirit.

Then ask yourself, is what is happening a new phenomenon? Or is it an old anxiety you've held and cultivated for awhile? Maybe it's a worry about the future. Recognize the manifestations that arise from your reactions and know that you are in control. Separate them from those that lie beyond and let the later go so you can free your thoughts to quell the immediate, reachable issue at hand.

Finally, just breathe deeply with slow measured inhalations and exhalations. Breathing not only sustains the body, it's an opportunity to meditate on releasing tension with every exhalation, while acquiring calm with every inhalation. Think of essential oils as vehicles that help to transport these benefits.

I usually notice my breathing while having morning coffee. Just a few deep breaths, feeling them in and out. Sounds so simple but works wonders for me.
